Hi there! My name is Patrick van der Veeken, born in 1986. I am a crazy Metaldrummer from Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
I have influences from many different musical genres, though I prefer to play Metal. The sound, power, energy and sheer brutality of this kind of music has always appealed to me.
I'm a particularly energetic drummer and love to let the music sweep me away, zoning out completely.
Back in 1994 when I was only 8 years old I began to tap on everything my hands could reach...
By then my parents sent me to the SKVR Music school in Rotterdam to learn and practice drums.
I spent ten years learning drums from Gerard Vermeulen.
The most important things he has taught me were how to FEEL drums and to become one with the instrument.
When I was twelve I got my first taste of playing live music at The Little Cave in Rotterdam.
Here you're taught to play a couple of songs in just ten lessons. After that, your first gig. Bloody amazing for a 12-year old!
Ever since I have played in numerous bands, often more than one at a time.
